Scratch Level 4 - Create Your Own Game
1. I had a problem with the ball hitting the paddle. Instead of the ball hitting the paddle and bouncing off it would slide off and wouldn`t end up bouncing. I fixed this by moving the commands for broadcasting bounce directly into the ``when touching paddle then point in direction 180-direction``.
2. I changed mine by adding a countdown as well as different sounds for each hit. (green chuchu hit will make a bark noise)... I finally figured out sound and went a bit crazy... (I might have added sounds for literally every hit:)
I also added my personal touches to the design of my game, like character and background.
Also, when you start the game, it picks a random location for the ball to start bouncing, therefore every game is different. That wasn't in the tutorial I watched, so that is also a personal touch.
3. All of my beta testers had said that they really liked my game because it all worked without any glitches... They also said that it ran smoothly and was easy to understand how to play. A lot of people said the noises and sound effects were really annoying, however, I like them so, I won't listen to that feedback, it makes my game reflect my personal touch:)
4. The next step I would create if I was to elaborate on my game further, would be to add a feature where the players could change the skin of the ball. I like having that kind of a feature on the games that I play, so incorporating that would be a nice touch.
If I had even more time, I would edit each different block (different colored block) to have a specific "power up" for example 10 sec speed boost, or 10 sec slow-mo effect.
